At Kippen Care, we have always been proud to serve our community. Every person that we care for is important to us, and we strive to deliver high standards of care that leave our patients and their families with peace of mind. That’s also why we are part of Scottish Care, and we make sure to stay updated with changes and events regularly.

Scottish Care is a fantastic support system for care companies across the country. It helps keep us accountable and motivates us to constantly improve the services we provide. We’d like to share more about what Scottish Care is and the way in which it helps us and our customers so that we can continue to provide the best possible care.

What is Scottish Care?

Scottish Care is a membership organisation that represents over 400 different organisations that work within the care sector. This actually comes down to over 900 individual services that deliver residential care, home care, nursing care, day care, and housing support services.

The membership that Scottish Care provides covers private organisations as well as charitable and not-for-profit organisations. It doesn’t matter how big or small an organisation is; they can still apply for membership, and it is highly beneficial to be part of Scottish Care.

They offer support, advice, and education for care companies and organisations throughout the sector. It helps keep us updated and also improves the way in which we operate.

What is Scottish Care’s Vision?

Scottish Care acts as a representative for the care community, supporting organisations and acting as their voice to the wider public as well as stakeholders and investors. They lobby for change and support for the industry, but they also offer support to the actual care organisations that they are representing.

Every member of Scottish Care is offered support on a professional level, and they are careful to ensure that their members are able to provide quality care that matches their high standards. At their core, they want key commissioners to understand the value that comes with the provision of high-quality and independent care services.

They advocate for fair and equal public funding of the care sector, addressing the importance of ensuring that it is sustained at a level that provides safe and quality care for every patient.

In total, they currently represent 85% of independent sector care homes and 50% of independent sector care organisations, with the goal to cover even more in the future.

What Membership Does for Us

There are several ways in which Scottish Care supports the care industry and us as a care company. The conferences that they hold are exceptionally useful for learning more about the community we are serving and how to uphold and improve our quality of care.

They teach new ways to provide the service and also update us on changes in national policy so that we always know where we need to improve and what has to change. Furthermore, they offer fantastic support throughout Care Inspectorate inspections so that we can address any issues and rectify things that the inspectorate might have flagged during their visit.

Their local branch meetings are a fantastic support network for our management team and senior staff, which allows us to better teach new and existing carers. Our standards are high, but we are always searching for new ways to grow and improve so that our customers are more comfortable.

They are a massive support and one that has been able to provide us with more confidence in our abilities as well as give us peace of mind. The various meetings throughout the year and the two large annual conferences have always provided us with unique learning opportunities we would never get elsewhere.

Scottish Care ensures that we have the resources we need to continue providing a valuable service for our community – one that we have given for 30 years and hope to continue offering for many more to come.

How it Helps Our Customers

Our membership with Scottish Care helps us but it also benefits our customers and patients. It’s not just the improved training and information that we give our staff; it is also through the fact that we can hold ourselves accountable as a result.

Accountability is so important in our industry, and we are a care company that promises to be open and transparent at all times. We take responsibility for ourselves and our staff, and that’s part of why our patients and their families have so much trust in us.

Scottish Care has helped us to become more than we thought possible over the years, and the added training and accountability have only added to the excellent reputation we have among our local community. We always endeavour to do our best, and we are open about all of our policies and practices from the moment you call up to enquire.

Having people that you can trust in your home is one of the most important aspects of choosing a care company. You want to feel safe and secure as well as cared for, and that is something we are able to provide for every person that we look after.

Our strict policies are in place for patient protection, and we are always learning more about how to care for our patients, with thanks to Scottish Care and the information and teachings that they provide.

To Conclude

We hope that this has helped to highlight how important Scottish Care is to the industry and how they represent the sector in terms of being our voice and holding us accountable. Thanks to the support that Scottish Care provides, we remain updated on all of the latest information and have the privilege of attending conferences and meetings that help us continue to improve.

At Kippen Care, we always want to do our best for our patients, and that includes ensuring staff and management are always trained to meet the latest requirements. By continuing to better ourselves, we are able to maintain the high-quality care that you have come to expect from us.
